ABOUT US…
Dale’s Sporting Goods began in 1954 as the Young Men’s Shop by owner, Dale Keiger. Dale began to dabble in sporting goods and finally changed the name to Dale’s Sporting Goods in the 1970’s. Dale began selling sports equipment and uniforms to local schools and then spread throughout the region. Customer service has always been priority one at Dale’s and that tradition continues today. Dale and his wife Gayle built quite the legacy in the local community and were loved by all who met them.
In 2020, Tommy and his wife Candace purchased Dale’s Sporting Goods. Tommy had been with the company for 18 years in charge of the day-to-day operations. Dale’s Sporting Goods is still the small-town sporting goods store but has grown leaps and bounds thanks to the loyalty of their customers throughout the years. Technology has changed many things in this industry, but the one thing that will not change is priority of customer service.

I began working at Dale’s in 2003 in the warehouse. As technology crept into our industry, I slowly took over the operations of Dale’s. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to carry on the tradition that Dale and Gayle started. I learned many valuable lessons from working by his side for many years.

I started working at Dale’s in 2021. I spent 20 years in healthcare before making the hard decision to join Tommy at the store. We have two wonderful children, Avery and Cooper, who also work at the store which truly makes this a family business.

I’ve been privileged to serve the area schools and recreation departments in Cabarrus and Stanly counties for the past 36 years. Since joining Dale’s Sporting Goods in 1987, this job has allowed me to stay close to my passion for sports.
